This was a busy day, as I started out meeting up with Demise at his place, with a plan to head to SF for the day to attend two big events - The World Cyber Games 2004 and Cyberfest. You see, it was the early 2000's and the word "Cyber" seemed very cool and futuristic, and we couldn't get enough of it. Despite the similarity in name, these events were quite different. The World Cyber Games was an eSport tournament and Cyberfest was a massive rave with DJ's playing electronic music.
Before we left on our cyber adventure we met up with Mel, who was Demise's employer and the guy who owned the warehouse where TMC LAN took place. Mel had some kid of an errand for Demise to do while in SF.
Once we were done with said errand we headed over to the Bill Graham Civic, where the World Cyber Games 2004 were taking place. Once we were outside, Gatekeeper came out with "Uncle Phile" from Nvidia and hooked us up with free passes to the event. I don't recall the circumstances of this, but I believe Gatekeeper was doing some kind of volunteer work for Nvidia at the event.
