During this time I was trying to form a partnership with AG LAN. I was hoping that since their event was about a month before ours, we could do some cross promoting around a tournament. The idea was there would be a tournament at AG LAN first, and then a corresponding tournament at TMC-LAN 6, in an effort to create a kind of local tournament circut for local teams to compete in. I created a flyer graphic that advertized both LANs/ Tournements (which now appears to be lost to time), and cross promoted TMC and AG lans on the TMC-LAN website.
The announcement posted on 3/4/2005 at TMC-LAN dot com, read as follows:
TMC LAN 5 was a huge sucess and now we bring you TMC-LAN 6!
Thats right folks, on April 2nd 2005 you will be able to taste more sweet lan goodness. Same bat place, same bat time, be there or be square! If you are planning on going you really should register. It helps us plan, and get sponsors... you want cool stuff, right?
There of course will be MORE tournaments! So get your teams all figured out and be ready to rock on lan day.
We are planning on doing:
Counter Strike Source
Half Life 2
Deathmatch
Desert Combat
and possibly a console, and/or RTS tourney. Also, if you need to get your LAN fix before April 2nd, check out the Ascendancy LAN on March 27th. It's bound to be good times!
The local tournament circuit idea wasn't as successful as I'd hoped, probably partly due to the fact that tournaments were largely an afterthought at local LANs (with the exception of maybe Monsterfrag, where they were a big element of the event). Overall it seemed that most local LANs were mainly focused on fun, hanging out and a party vibe rather than a competitive environment.. which honestly was my preference anyway.
Looking back TMC-LAN were a lot of fun, and I wish we could have kept them going longer. However, given my reluctance to take on any added liability on behalf of some of the more rowdy partiers, this would be the final TMC LAN at this location.
It's a shame too, because the location really was perfect for LANs. It was a big open space, with internet, plenty of power and even some space for parking. Unfortunately we were unable to find any other useable LAN spaces to continuue hosting events at.
Another sad post script to this location would happen decades later. While no one in TMC had any involvement with the location after this last TMC LAN in 2005, we were shocked to see the location on the news 20 years later. On December 11th, 2025, due to a mishap with ongoing road work in front of the house, there was a gas line explosion that completely leveled the duplex and caught fire to the warehouse.
